Galvumet také je předepsán jako doplněk k inzulínu a doplněk stravy a cvičení ke zlepšení kontroly glykemie u pacientů, kdy stabilní dávka inzulínu a samotného metforminu neposkytuje dostatečnou glykemickou kontrolu.
